A concert tracing the sweet sadness of Franco-Flemish odes and elegies, in which some of the greatest Renaissance composers saved their most exquisite music to honour and celebrate a colleague, teacher or friend. The programme features the richly sonorous Requiem by Richafort with its filigree lines of flowing polyphony as well as vibrant and intricate works by Dufay, Josquin and Gombert, full of celebratory innovations and virtuosic experiments.
