Orlando Chamber Choir is always looking for motivated new members. Tenors and altos would be particularly welcome at the moment.
All you need is a voice that blends with the sound of the current group of singers, and the willingness to commit to a busy rehearsal schedule. Good sight reading is a bonus. Orlando Chamber Choir mainly performs works from the Renaissance and Baroque periods so an interest in "old music" is helpful, too.
You are very welcome to come and join us for one of our rehearsals. We will provide you with sheet music so that you can sing along. To hear Orlando Chamber Choir at its musical best, please come and listen to one of our concerts!
Aspiring members will be asked to take a voice test with our conductor James Weeks. The test consists of some exercises concerning intonation, voice range and sight reading. You will also be asked to prepare a short solo piece which James will be happy to accompany on the piano. If your voice test is successful you will immediately be welcomed as a member of the choir. There is no probation period.
